Our Annual General Meeting is planned for 6.00 PM Monday 6th of October, in the Otago Squash Club lounge. Please come along and show support for your club; if you want to help, consider standing for a committee post: we're keen to have you involved. Talk to any of the committee about it; it helps your club, helps the sport, and can show that you're involved in more than just studies. We're also adopting a new constitution, and re-registering with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies. A copy with changes marked is below. Let us know if you think there's anything missing. Any questions just ask Georgia, Gavin, or any of the committee. We hope to see you there! Your browser does not support viewing this document. Click here to download the document.
The University is undertaking a "Campus Activation Review" and looking at ways to improve social, entertainment and recreation spaces on the Dunedin campus, for students and also staff and the wider community. Squash courts on campus fit into all of those categories: the squash club organises recreation and social events, and squash is entertainment of itself, for students, staff and the community from Balclutha to Palmerston.
Submissions close next Friday, the 23rd of May, and should be emailed to Megan Wilson ([email protected]). Even a short message in support of squash on campus would help us show that there's benefits to having courts, and that there is support in the community for it. Congratulations to Oliver Pattenden, winner of our O-Week competition! For coming along to our Friday open nights and entering the draw, he won a brand-new racket and a squash ball. These will no doubt be put to good use on the court.
The competition was drawn in early April, but travel has meant that the hand over could only happen now. All are welcome to come along on Fridays from six. After much difficulty in getting them, here are some photos from our AGM, showing our outgoing and incoming committee.
