We held the 2024 AGM this past weekend, where we elected a new committee, set the subs for next year, and awarded a life membership to Gavin King for the work he has done to help the club over the past few years. Our AGM is planned for 6.15 PM at the Otago Squash Club, 44 Kaikorai Valley Road, Kaikorai. All current members are welcome to attend, and we are looking for committee members for next year. Do think about helping to run your club; it really does help. We're also holding our club champs that night and the next day. Get in touch to register for them
We're co-hosting the G.J Gardner Homes B-Grade National Superchamps 2023 with the Otago Squash Club, today until Saturday night. It's going to be an excellent event, and we all look forward to seeing some very good squash. And of course having a great deal of fun. We'll be posting photos and details to our Facebook page, and at least some of the games will be live-streamed there too. Here's a copy of the tournament booklet, very kindly made by Digiart and Design.
At the University of Otago and Otago University Students' Association Blues and Golds awards on Monday, we were awards Sports Club of the Year. An excellent achievement that shows the dedication of our committee and our club.
Not only that, but Martha Toghill was awarded a University Blue for her achievements including representing New Zealand in the Trans-Tasman Junior Series last year, and Hamish Dudley and Gavin King were each awarded an OUSA Silver Service Award for their hard work in keeping the club ticking over. (Martha couldn't make the ceremony, so we have yet to get her photo). A full list of the other winners is here. |
